De serie De beste bestaat uit fysieke vertalingen van hedendaagse symbolen: lichtflitsen, flashes en sterren, veelvuldig gebruikt om consumenten te verleiden, bijvoorbeeld voor perfecte witte tanden, glimmende mobiele telefoons of auto's. Maar mijn sterren glimmen niet: ze zijn ruw en stekelig, en hebben de aanwezigheid van levende wezens.

The series The best consists of physical translations of contemporary symbols: flashes of light and stars, frequently used to entice consumers, for example for perfect white teeth, shiny mobile phones, or cars. But my stars do not shine; they are rough and spiky, possessing the presence of living beings.
